What "unlocking" actually removes
There are two different things a PDF can restrict: an open password (you can't view the file without it) and permission restrictions (printing, copying, editing disabled even after opening). This tool removes the open password specifically — you must know it to unlock the file.
You need to know the password
This isn't a password-cracking tool — you enter the existing password, and we remove it from the file so you don't have to enter it again each time. If you've genuinely forgotten a password, we can't recover or bypass it.
Owner password vs. user password
A user password blocks opening the file entirely. An owner password allows opening but restricts actions like printing or copying, even without asking for a password upfront. Unlocking removes whichever password you provide, along with the restrictions tied to it.
